মা'ই হলো আমার জীবনের 

      প্রথম শিক্ষিকা, 

মাকে দেখে দেখে আমার বড়ো 

      হয়ে ওঠা ।

যা কিছু ঠিক ভুল সবই মায়ের 

      থেকে শেখা,

কোথায় একটা মিলে যায় আমাদের 

      দুজনার ভাগ্যরেখা। 

মায়ের হাত দিয়ে আমার হাতেখড়ি 

      অ আ ক খ ইত্যাদি, 

মা রান্ন করা শেখানোর সময় বলে দেয় 

      কোন মশলা কতটা দিবি। 

ছোটো বড়োর জ্ঞান শিখিয়েছে মা 

       সব মানুষই সমান, 

একজন গরীব দিন মজুরও খেটে খায় 

      তাকে করোনা কিন্তু অপমান। 

ভুল করেও কষ্ট দিলে মাকে চোখে

       জল ফেলে, 

ঝগড়া করলে মায়ের সাথে অভিমানে

       অনেক কিছু বলে ফেলে। 

মান অভিমান করে মা বলে সেই তো একদিন 

       মাকে ভুলে যাবি রে ছোরা, 

যতই জীবনে ছন্দপতন ঘটুক প্রথম শিক্ষিকাকে

       যায় কি কখনো ভোলা ।
